DEVELOPING SOCIAL MENTORING MODEL AS SOCIAL SERVICE TO SUPPORT LONG-TERM UNEMPLOYED SOCIAL ASSISTANCE BENEFICIARIES FOR THEIR INCLUSION IN THE LABOUR MARKET
Social Purpose: 
THE PROJECT WAS CONNECTED TO JOINT INCLUSION MEMORANDUM ON SOCIAL INCLUSION (JIM) AIMING AT CUSTOMISING AND INTEGRATING EMPLOYMENT AND SOCIAL WELFARE SERVICES TARGETING LONG-TERM UNEMPLOYED SOCIAL ASSISTANCE BENEFICIARIES DUE TO THE LACK OF TAILORED MADE SERVICES FOR THIS TARGET GROUP THAT INCLUDES SIGNIFICANT PERCENTAGE OF WORK – ABLE BENEFICIARIES AMONG THEM. THIS CHALLENGE IS IMPORTANT TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY AND EFFECTIVENESS OF SOCIAL SERVICES IN WELFARE SYSTEM AIMED AT LONG-TERM UNEMPLOYED SOCIAL ASSISTANCE BENEFICIARIES AND IN PARTICULAR THE COMMUNITY BASED SOCIAL SERVICES.
Social Impact: 
THE SOCIAL IMPACT THAT THE INITIATIVE PRODUCES IS IN DEVELOPING NEW INTEGRATED AND TAILORED MADE SOCIAL SERVICE AND IN BROADENING THE NETWORK OF COMMUNITY BASED SOCIAL SERVICES TARGETED AT COMBATING POVERTY AND SOCIAL EXCLUSION OF LONG – TERM UNEMPLOYED SOCIAL ASSISTANCE BENEFICIARIES. THE INITIATIVE IS IN LINE WITH EUROPEAN GOALS TO COMBATING POVERTY AND SOCIAL EXCLUSION. CONDITIONS FOR IMPACT ASSESSMENT HAVE NOT BEEN MET YET.
Innovative Character: 
PERSONALISED MENTORING APPROACH WAS NOT IMPLEMENTED IN THE FIELD OF SOCIAL INCLUSION UP TO NOW IN CROATIA. SOCIAL MENTORING MODEL IS BASED ON GUIDED PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP AND INDIVIDUAL PLANNING INCLUDING ON DIFFERENT SOCIAL AND EMPLOYMENT SERVICES SUPPORT ACCORDINGLY. PERSONALISED MENTORING APPROACH WAS IN FIRST PLACE PROVIDED BY SOCIAL WORKERS FROM SOCIAL WELFARE OFFICES THAT ARE FAMILIAR WITH DIFFERENT ASPECTS OF LIFE OF BENEFICIARIES OUT OF UNEMPLOYMENT ITSELF, SUCH AS FAMILY LIFE, HEALTH, INCOME ETC. FOR THIS REASONS PERSONALISED MENTORING APPROACH DONE BY SOCIAL WORKERS FROM SOCIAL WELFARE OFFICES WAS ASSESSED BY BENEFICIARIES THEMSELVES AS THE MOST APPROPRIATE COMPARED TO SUCH ONE TO BE DONE ONLY BY EMPLOYMENT SERVICES EMPLOYEES. SOCIAL MENTORING MODEL PROVIDES SUPPORT TO INTEGRATION TO THE LABOUR MARKET THROUGH ACCESS TO EMPLOYMENT BUT ALSO SUPPORT TO ADAPTING TO NEW WORKING AND ACCORDINGLY LIFE REQUIREMENTS
